As far back as I can remember, I've always struggled to find a sense of inner peace and happiness; which is why when confronted with it during a 30 day yoga challenge in college, around 2011, I resisted the opportunity to change, and ran the other direction completely. Since then, I've had my ups and downs with yoga and personal growth. It wasn't until I came to Plymouth Yoga Room in 2016 that I felt a change in my heart, mind and body. My journey had led me to exactly where I needed to be, and I haven't been the same person since. My mantra has become "no mud, no lotus," and it is a reminder to accept the ebb and flow of life; embracing life's challenges, instead of hiding from them, and from those challenges will come new growth and beauty. I enjoy a yoga class that helps lift any emotional weight off my shoulders, one that gives me a little light to carry throughout my day. I strive to bring that same feeling and expression to my own classes, for students who are looking for that release. I hope to give to my students what Plymouth Yoga Room and its teachers have given me; which is strength, peace, and happiness to continue on my journey and grow into the person I always knew I could be.
